First of all, I would like to mention that; The word “GURUP” is obsolete word in Turkish and means sunset, it has nothing to do with the “group” that means community. The logo is quite understandable within this definition, but I would like to clarify the logotype. The logotype is not related with the makıli which is Arabic script style. Logotype consists of a combination of two different symbols used in Egyptian hieroglyphs to mean sun and house. I don’t know why I explained all this, I felt like I had to… Gurup Stüdyo was founded in 2020 by Murat Çil. Its aim is to design contemporary and high-ended fonts for typographic problems that have been overlooked or not sufficiently studied and also to draw attention to these issues by writting on them.
